DIY - How to Make Your Own Ice Melt

If your living somewhere cold like me, you may have to constantly deal with icy conditions during the winter.  Many times, the ice on your front door steps will be too stubborn to budge. That’s when you know you need ice melt.

Now instead of paying a pretty penny for those store brand toxic products, you can make an ice melt at the comfort of your own home. All you need is three simple ingredients:

-1/2 a gallon of warm water
-6 drop of liquid dish detergent
-2 ounces of rubbing alcohol

Mix these three ingredients into a container (like milk carton) and you have an ice melt.  Below is a video from WYFF News 4 showing us how it’s done.
